Caravan Holidays

Taking an annual holiday has always been a part of my family life, but I am aware that there are many families who have not been on holiday together for over a decade. Unfortunately, such is the financial strain on families in Britain today that taking a holiday is a luxury rather than a crucial annual ritual. For us, there has been financial struggle over the years but taking a holiday, luckily, has been something we have always done. And it may not be your conventional trip, but caravan holidays have been taken by my family many times. And during our trips, the solidarity and community spirit we’ve encountered on the touring caravan sites we’ve stayed at have made us return to caravanning time and time again.

Where do I start when heralding the merits of caravanning? For me, it presents utter relaxation and a real affinity with this land and the country in which I was born and have lived for all my years. I guess in the touring caravan sites we stop over at while on the road, we find that same affinity with like minded caravanners. So it’s not just economical, and maybe it’s not for everyone, but it certainly is something many Brits are perhaps missing the joys of.
